A fresh perspective on food and purpose
AlmaBites Capstone Project is a standout initiative from the Master in International Management at Advantere School of Management. This project combines sustainable food delivery with a strong social impact mission, proving that business can nourish both people and communities.
Created by students Kathinka Lund, Rocío Minguillón Jacob, Sofía Velez, and Maria Alejandra Lombardi, the AlmaBites Capstone Project reimagines lunch as a force for good.
What makes the AlmaBites Capstone Project unique?
Solving two problems at once
Urban professionals often sacrifice proper nutrition due to tight schedules. At the same time, over 10% of households in Spain are led by single parents, many of whom are unemployed or working in precarious jobs.
The AlmaBites Capstone Project offers a solution: a meal delivery service providing fresh, healthy food while creating flexible job opportunities for marginalized communities.
A mission-driven business model
Purpose at the core
The AlmaBites team designed a model that aligns profit with purpose. Meals are delivered in reusable containers, distributed via food trucks, and prepared with ingredients from local farms.
Employees receive hands-on training in cooking, delivery, business, and digital skills. The result? A workforce that grows personally and professionally.
ESG commitment and future plans
The project supports several UN Sustainable Development Goals, including gender equality, decent work, and responsible consumption.
Future expansion includes:
- Scalability: replicating the model in other cities
- AlmaKindergarten: support for single working parents
- Smart systems: inventory tracking and AI-driven logistics

Why this Capstone Project matters
The AlmaBites Capstone Project is more than a business plan—it’s a blueprint for meaningful innovation.
It shows that when students apply their knowledge to real-life challenges, they can spark change that’s both scalable and sustainable.
“When business is driven by purpose, it can support people, empower communities, and protect the planet.”
