What happens when top students face a real business challenge in human resources? The answer is found in the Master in Talent Management project with KPMG, where students applied data, strategy, and communication to solve a pressing question: Are performance evaluations retaining and rewarding top talent?

Understanding the Challenge

The Master in Talent Management project with KPMG asked students to act as HR consultants. Their mission was to analyze performance evaluation systems, identify improvement areas, and propose strategic solutions that help companies retain top talent.

KPMG provided a real-life context where students could explore key areas:

  • Data handling and analysis
  • Competency evaluation tools
  • Employee engagement strategies
  • Motivation and reward systems

This hands-on project tested not only their technical understanding but also their ability to deliver insights with clarity and impact.

Learning Through Practice

Each group of students tackled the case from a different angle. They worked with real company data, interpreted trends, and presented their findings to KPMG professionals. According to student Juliana Salazar, “We helped the company figure out why employees might be leaving. Translating technical findings into accessible language was the most challenging part.”

For many, the most rewarding moment was presenting to HR leaders from KPMG. Student María Barthel noted, “I learned how to communicate my ideas so the message really lands.”

A Strategic Partnership

Professionals from KPMG, including Pablo Araujo and Adriana Hijón, supported the students throughout the project by bringing them closer to real corporate environments. “The collaboration has been a real opportunity to bring students closer to the business world,” said Araujo.

This Master in Talent Management project with KPMG was more than an academic exercise. It helped students grow as analysts, consultants, and communicators—equipped to face real HR challenges with confidence and purpose.
