The Master in International Management (MIM) at Advantere School of Management is a 1-year, full-time, in-person master’s program taught entirely in English, awarding 60 ECTS credits and recognized as an Official Degree within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). Starting in September 2026, the program combines academic training at the Advantere Campus Arrupe in Madrid with an international residential experience at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. (USA), in partnership with Comillas Pontifical University and Deusto University. Designed for recent graduates and early-career professionals, the MIM integrates Project-Based Learning with companies like ZARA/Inditex, a Tech Academy focused on business analytics and digital transformation, and social impact projects to prepare future leaders for global business challenges.

We are located in Madrid’s Chamartín district, within the new Campus Arrupe. This modern urban campus hosts up to 1,000 students from Comillas, Deusto, and Advantere, offering an innovative environment with coworking spaces, advanced labs, collaborative learning areas, and rest zones.

The campus is easily accessible by metro, train, or bus, and includes facilities designed to ensure full accessibility, such as easily accessible main entrance, accessible restrooms on each floor, and special elevator access to the cafeteria.

What is the Master in International Management (MIM)?

The Master in International Management (MIM) is a one-year, full time, official master’s degree taught entirely in English at Advantere School of Management. The program awards 60 ECTS credits and is officially recognized within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). Students combine academic learning in Madrid with an international residential experience at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., while developing practical skills through Project-Based Learning, the Tech Academy and real business challenges.

Who is this programme designed for?

The MIM is designed for recent graduates and early-career professionals who want to build an international career in management, consulting, strategy or business development. Applicants from business, economics, engineering, humanities and other academic backgrounds are welcome. No previous work experience is required, although international exposure, leadership experience and extracurricular involvement are positively valued during the admissions process.

Is the MIM an official European degree?

Yes, the MIM is an Official Master’s Degree recognized within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), which encompasses 48 European countries. This means the degree is officially accredited by Spanish educational authorities and automatically recognized in all EHEA member states, including Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, and others. The official European status ensures that graduates can work, pursue further studies, or access public sector positions across Europe without needing additional degree validation procedures.

What does it mean that this is an official master’s degree?

The Master in International Management is an official master’s degree recognised within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). This means your qualification meets European academic standards, is officially recognised across EHEA member countries and provides access to PhD programmes, subject to each university’s admission requirements.

What makes Advantere's MIM different from other International Management master's programmes?

Unlike traditional Master in International Management programmes, Advantere’s MIM combines academic excellence with hands-on learning and international exposure. Students graduate with an official European master’s degree while developing practical experience through the school’s Re-solutionary™ methodology, which replaces passive learning with real business challenges, interdisciplinary teamwork and project-based collaboration with leading organisations. The programme also includes an international learning experience at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., where students broaden their global perspective and strengthen their leadership skills alongside an international cohort.

To prepare graduates for today’s evolving business environment, the MIM integrates a dedicated Tech Academy, providing practical knowledge of digital transformation, AI, business analytics and emerging technologies. Combined with personalised career support, close collaboration with companies and a strong focus on responsible leadership, the programme prepares students to create impact from day one.

What will I learn during the programme?

Throughout the programme, students develop strategic thinking, leadership and decision-making skills while gaining expertise in international business, global strategy, digital transformation, business analytics and sustainability. Through Project-Based Learning, students work on real business challenges and graduate with practical experience that complements their academic knowledge.

What international opportunities does the MIM include?

Students benefit from an international learning experience that combines studying in Madrid with a residential module at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. The programme offers exposure to diverse perspectives, international faculty and multicultural teamwork, preparing graduates to succeed in global organisations.

Are internships included in the MIM program?

Yes, the MIM facilitates internship opportunities in international management, consulting, strategy, or business development roles at partner companies in Madrid and internationally. While internships are not mandatory, Advantere’s Employability & Career Services team provides personalized coaching, personal brand workshops, interview preparation, and access to a network of corporate partners to help students secure internships aligned with their career goals. Many students receive full-time job offers before graduation, and the program’s Mentoring Program pairs each student with an industry leader who provides personalized guidance throughout the academic year.

What career opportunities can I expect after graduation?

Graduates pursue careers in consulting, international management, business development, strategy, operations and project management across multinational companies, startups, NGOs and international organisations. The combination of international exposure, practical projects and career support prepares students to enter competitive global job markets. Graduates work in multinational companies, consulting firms (Big Four and boutique), financial institutions, NGOs, and startups across Europe, North America, and Latin America. The program’s combination of Project-Based Learning with companies like ZARA/Inditex, the Georgetown Washington D.C. experience, and the Tech Academy gives graduates a unique competitive edge for senior positions in global organizations.

What are the admission requirements?

To apply for the MIM, candidates must hold an official university degree (bachelor’s or equivalent) and demonstrate English proficiency at B2 level or higher. Additional required documents include a completed application form, updated CV, academic transcripts, valid passport or national ID, and proof of mandatory health insurance. Prior work experience is not required, although international exposure, extracurricular activities, and leadership experiences are valued positively. The admissions committee evaluates candidates holistically, considering academic performance, motivation, leadership potential, and alignment with Advantere’s values of social impact and global perspective.

How does the admissions process work?

The admissions process includes an online application, supporting documentation, assessment activities and a personal interview. The MIM admissions process follows five phases: (1) online application through the official website; (2) skills assessment tests evaluating analytical abilities, critical thinking, and communication; (3) submission of supporting documentation including bachelor’s degree, CV, academic transcripts, and English proficiency certificate; (4) comprehensive review by the admissions committee evaluating academic performance, motivation, leadership potential, and fit with the program; and (5) personal interview (online or in person) for shortlisted candidates. Admission decisions are communicated within 2-3 weeks, and Advantere operates on a rolling admissions basis, so early application is recommended. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so candidates are encouraged to apply early to secure their place in the programme.

Are scholarships available?

Yes. Advantere offers a range of scholarships and financial support options to recognise academic excellence, diversity, leadership potential and financial need. In addition, students can access flexible payment plans and student loans. Students who have previously completed the Advantere International Summer School receive 100% of their Summer School tuition credited toward their MIM tuition fee.

Does this master's degree give access to PhD studies?

Yes. As an official master’s degree recognised within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), the programme provides access to doctoral studies in Spain and across Europe, subject to each university’s admission requirements. Graduates who wish to pursue an academic career or conduct advanced research in international management, business strategy, sustainability, or related fields can apply to doctoral programs at Spanish universities or other European institutions. The official recognition of the degree ensures that graduates meet the academic requirements for PhD admission without needing additional accreditation processes.

MIM vs MBA: Which programme is right for me?

The MIM is designed for recent graduates and early-career professionals looking to build a strong foundation in international business and management. An MBA is typically intended for professionals with several years of work experience seeking to accelerate their careers into senior management positions. If you are at the beginning of your professional journey, the MIM provides the ideal starting point to develop the skills and international perspective required by today’s employers.

What will I learn during the programme?

Throughout the Master in International Management, you will develop the knowledge, skills and mindset needed to lead in today’s global business environment. The programme combines core business disciplines—including strategy, finance, marketing and operations—with leadership, innovation, sustainability and digital transformation.

You’ll work on real business challenges, strengthen your analytical and decision-making skills, and learn to collaborate across cultures and industries. You’ll also gain hands-on experience with emerging technologies through the Tech Academy, preparing you to drive meaningful impact in organisations worldwide.

What is the workload like?

This is a fulltime, immersive program. You’ll work through classes, team projects, and real challenges that reflect the pace of international business. It’s demanding, but you’ll be supported throughout the journey.
