At Advantere School of Management, we believe that education should go beyond the classroom. That’s why we recently hosted a panel titled “Trump 2.0: Disruption in the Global Economy and Geopolitics.”
It was an opportunity to pause and reflect on the international dynamics currently shaping our world.
Trump 2.0 and the global economy was the central theme of the event, inviting thoughtful dialogue and valuable insights.

What Trump 2.0 Means for the Global Economy

The session featured Federico Steinberg (Prince of Asturias Chair at Georgetown University) and Alicia Coronil Jónsson (Chief Economist at Singular Bank), moderated by Jesús Sánchez León, Deputy Editor at El Confidencial. Together, they examined how Trump and the global economy are deeply interconnected.

From legal challenges and executive orders to economic retaliation and isolationist strategies, the discussion shed light on the complex relationship between power and markets.
Can Europe offer a model of trust and legal stability in contrast to recent developments in the U.S.?

Rather than offering simple conclusions, the speakers raised crucial questions about how power is shifting and how economic logic still plays a role—even in highly politicized environments.

Beyond Headlines: The Value of Critical Dialogue

Understanding Trump and the global economy requires more than headlines or hot takes.
As both speakers emphasized, these trends have deep roots—from the rise of populism to growing tensions between China and the U.S.

At Advantere, we believe that creating space for these conversations helps students—and the wider community—see complexity more clearly. By listening to experts, we learn to engage with the world more responsibly.

Thank You to Our Contributors

We are especially grateful to the Georgetown Club of Spain for supporting this initiative, and to everyone who joined us at the event.
We will continue to host conversations like these because Trump 2.0 and the global economy is not just a topic—it is a lens through which we better understand the challenges of our time.
